Globe GC-1B Swift

The Globe GC-1 Swift, also known as the Globe/Temco Swift, is a light, two-seater sports monoplane from the period after the Second World War.

The Globe Swift was constructed as GC1A in Fort Worth/Texas shortly before the war. On 7th May 1946, the first Globe Swift GC1A was completed. Although these aircraft were only equipped with an 85 hp engine and the flight characteristics were understandably mediocre, a total of 408 units were produced. On 22nd September 1946, the Globe Swift GC1B was registered. She was now fitted with a Conti with 125 hp. The N3327K presented here is also an original Globe Swift GC1B with originally 125 hp and which left the factory in Fort Worth in October 1946.

To meet the huge demand for this wonderful aircraft, Temco Werke was brought in as a subcontractor.

In 1947, the Globe Swift Cooperation withdrew from production. Production continued at Texas Engineering Manufacture Cooperation (Temco) until 1951. This is where the Temco Swift was created.

After a total production of 1498 Globe and Temco Swift with the GC1A and GC1B models, production was discontinued.
