Diamond Aircraft’s composite twin-engine DA42-VI is equipped with 168 hp Austro Engine (subsidiary of Diamond Aircraft) jet fuel engines and carries up to four people.

It is the world’s best-selling twin-engine piston aircraft. The aircraft took its maiden flight in December 2002 and was certified by EASA in May 2004. The prototype is on display at the Vienna Technical Museum as a piece of Austrian aviation history.

In 2004, a DA42 flew non-stop across the Atlantic, making it the first light aircraft with jet fuel engines to do so. The aircraft type is popular worldwide as a travel and trainer aircraft and is particularly characterized by its economy, safety and excellent flight performance.
