The Croatian Air Force’s aerobatic squadron was officially founded in August 2005 (it flew an unofficial programme a year earlier at the opening of the European Sailing Championships in Zadar). The six pilots are flight instructors for the next generation of military pilots and are among the Croatian Air Force’s most experienced and skilled pilots.
The Pilatus PC-9 is their everyday aircraft, based in Zemunik near Zadar. They also perform their aerobatic manoeuvres in this aircraft, which – even for aerobatic squadrons – are carried out with unusual precision and in which the aircraft sometimes fly closer than two metres apart.
