The Diamond DART 450 is a twin-seat propeller turbine aircraft manufactured by Diamond Aircraft from Wiener Neustadt, Austria. According to chief designer Clemens Knappert, only one year passed between the first sketchnd the maiden flight in May 2016. That is not the only highlight though. The Diamond DART 450 is the world’s first aircraft made entirely of carbon fibre. Compared to conventional aircraft construction materials (metal, wood), this material has better surface quality and strength while at the same time being lighter. The DART 450 can also withstand loads of +7/-4g and reaches a top speed of 460km/h. It will be used in future as an aerobatic trainer for civilian and military training.
Diamond Aircraft has a DART 450 in the AIRPOWER19 flying display.
