The Diamond DA62 twin-engine light aircraft made its maiden flight in April 2012. Its Austrian aircraft manufacturer Diamond Aircraft, based in Wiener Neustadt, was founded in 1981. It took the company just six months to develop the DA62.
The DA62 is available in two versions. One with a maximum take-off weight of 1,999 kg for the European market, and an identical but worldwide-approved version with a take-off weight of 2,300kg. Thanks to its spaciousness, seating comfort, and luggage space, Diamond Aircraft describes the DA62 as an “exclusive flying SUV”.
