Aérospatiale (Airbus) SA332 Super Puma

Heli Austria GmbH is a leading air transport company based in St. Johann im Pongau, Austria. The product portfolio of the second-generation Salzburg-based family business includes assembly flights, film & photo flights, VIP & cab flights, and heavy-lift transports.

The Aérospatiale AS 332 is a helicopter manufactured by the French company Aérospatiale, later Eurocopter and now Airbus Helicopters. The AS 332 is used both in civilian service with the nickname “Super Puma” and in military service as “Cougar”. It is based on the Aérospatiale SA 330, but is a scaled-up design. The first flight took place on September 13, 1978.

The machine became a great commercial success for the manufacturer. A total of 37 armed forces have been equipped with the type, and it is also in service with about 1000 civilian operators; there it is mainly used for oil production near the coast or in the open sea (offshore). It is marketed in the military variant as the Eurocopter “Cougar”.

At AIRPOWER22, the Super Puma will be on static display.
