AIRPOWER22, an Austrian Armed Forces event in partnership with Red Bull and the Province of Styria, sets new sustainability standards.
Strict rules for "green procurement" ensure, among other things, short distances and recyclable packaging materials.
Climate-relevant measures are taken at over 500 data points to enable further improvements.
The transport concept makes public travel particularly attractive thanks to an ÖBB cooperation (shuttle capacity: at least 45,000 people per day, special trains from five provincial capitals) - and thus enables car parking capacity to be halved (to 17,000).
A CO2 balance is drawn up for all areas of AIRPOWER22.
The sustainability report for AIRPOWER22 already documented the climate relevance of the event in October 2022.
In addition to this year’s CO2 reduction of 30% compared to 2019, the implementation of the sustainability program will bring a further reduction of at least 10 percent at each subsequent event.
