The twin-engined Diamond DA62 light aircraft made its maiden flight in April 2012. Austrian aircraft manufacturer Diamond Aircraft is based in Wiener Neustadt and was founded in 1981. The company took just six months to develop the D62.
The DA62 is available in two weight versions: the European version has a maximum takeoff weight of 1,999 kg, while the structurally identical but heavier version, with a maximum takeoff weight of 2,300 kg, is licensed for operation worldwide. Its spacious interior, comfortable seating and luggage compartment make it popular as a private jet.
Diamond Aircraft will be showing a DA62 in formation flight with a DA42-VI, a DA40NG, a DA42MPP and a Dart 450 as part of Friday's AIRPOWER16 display programme.
