The DA42-VI is the successor of the DA42NG and the DA 42 Twin Star – the world's first twin turbocharged diesel engine aircraft to weigh less than 2,000 kg. The four-seat Twin Star boasted such high fuel-efficiency that it became the first diesel-powered aircraft to make a non-stop crossing of the North Atlantic. The modern DA42-VI is made of lightweight, robust glass and carbon fiber and powered by two Austro Engine 168 hp AE300 jet fuel engines.

AT AIRPOWER16 Diamond Aircraft presents a DA42-VI and an DA42 MPP together with ar DA62, a DA40 NG and a DART-450 in Friday’s Flying Display.
