CESSNA CE-208 „CARAVAN“

The Caravan, in production since 1982, is the VW camper van of single-engine aircraft. It is one of the safest, most reliable, cost-efficient and versatile aircraft ever built. It can be configured as a passenger, cargo, bush, military, rescue or sea plane.

The variant owned by the Flying Bulls and which will be making an appearance at AIRPOWER16 belongs to the latter category – it is a Cessna CE-208 “Amphibian Caravan” and until August 2000 was stationed in a US state where it couldn't have been more at home: Florida. Fortunately there is also plenty of water in Austria, which is where this single-engine amphibian aircraft ended up after a bold flight across the Atlantic. In April 2001 it was the first aircraft of its type to receive the Austrian certificate of airworthiness.
