PC-7 TEAM

The aerobatic display team based both in Locarno and Dübendorf was officially established in 1989 for the 75th anniversary of the Swiss Air Force. The PC-7 TEAM has since gone on to win several awards, including the "King Hussein Memorial Sword" for best flight presentation in Fairford, GB, in 2013. Being a member of the PC-7 TEAM is a second job for the pilots, whose full-time job involves showcasing their aviation skills in one of the three F/A-18 squadrons of the Swiss Air Force.

The pilots use the Pilatus PC-7 to perform their aerobatic displays. The trainer aircraft is used primarily for basic training of prospective military pilots. In 2014, the PC-7 TEAM installed a new smoke generating system in its planes, which feature the striking Swiss national colours of red and white. 2016 will see the PC-7 TEAM make its debut at AIRPOWER.
